Unit Welcomes Dr. Sarah Cohen as New Cryo-EM Staff Scientist

The Cryo-EM Unit is delighted to welcome Dr. Sarah Cohen as our new Staff Scientist, effective this month. Dr. Cohen brings over eight years of hands-on experience in single-particle cryo-EM and cryo-electron tomography (cryo-ET), most recently from the Department of Structural Biology at the Weizmann Institute of Science.

Dr. Cohen's research expertise spans membrane protein complexes, in-situ structural biology, and the development of automated data acquisition workflows. She will be responsible for instrument operation and maintenance, user training, and supporting collaborative research projects within the unit.

"I am very excited to join the growing cryo-EM community at BGU," said Dr. Cohen. "The Ilse Katz Institute provides a uniquely dynamic environment for pushing the boundaries of structural biology." Users wishing to schedule a consultation or training session with Dr. Cohen can contact the unit office.
