Our facility provides all the necessary equipment and expertise to prepare your samples for cryo-EM analysis. Vitrification Sample vitrification is the process of rapidly cooling biological samples in liquid ethane to preserve their native structure. Our facility uses both manual and automated plunge freezing methods to achieve optimal sample vitrification. Available Equipment We offer access to a range of sample preparation equipment including: Leica EM GP: Automated plunge freezer (Leica Microsystems) Leica EM GP2: Advanced robotic grid plunger (Leica Microsystems) Manual Plunge Freezer: Homebuilt apparatus for manual vitrification Support Our experienced staff provides hands-on support for sample preparation, from initial sample assessment to final vitrification.
